Amongst all the political stuff going on in Barcelona at this time, we had some fun times and it didn't stop us from going out and about in the city centre. With blue skies and a shining sun on a couple of days we were able to film some improvisation for my project, 31 Locations. These locations led us to view some beautiful landscapes that I shall never forget. Travelling multiple hours on public transport to get to Sitges we then took dance classes with Institue of Arts Barcelona. Turning up to a ballet class in contemporary baggy clothes we were unaware that formal balletic uniform was necessary. A clear outsiders we were immediately out of our comfort zone. However in our contemporary classes we were comfortable and even questioned to ourselves, were we challenged enough? It was interesting to see all the different styles of dance they train in, how different styles of dance they train in, how differently they value certain things in comparison to Falmouth. We would spend up to 5 hours each day in a cafe sometimes even on the beach, planning and researching for our projects for the upcoming month and other opportunities that are available in the planned destinations. Research is endless. Wanting to experience the Spanish culture we treated ourselves to a tapas evening followed by an authentic Flamenco performance in a small funky bar. Visiting art galleries, Parcs and museums we had a fantastic experience in Barcelona.
